http://www.microsofttranslator.com/ The Youth Empowerment Project, Inc. (YEP) has been
featured as a replicable program among national and local media.
YEP has also produced a documentary in conjunction with
MEDIAONE/USWEST called "Violent Minds: Violent Times." The
documentary covered the lives of youth convicted of murder and
other serious offenses. The show went on to be nominated for a
Cable Ace Award. YEP representatives have also appeared on
nationally-recognized shows, including: the Oprah Winfrey Show,
NewsTalk Television of New York, and a television special hosted by
actor, Lou Gossett, Jr. called "Images of African-American Males."
The YEP program also has been featured in local media such as
WSB-TV's "Growing Up, Locked Up" special and a Georgia Public
Educational Television program concerning youth and violence. YEP
representatives also have an extensive history of collaborating
with government entities in states such as Georgia, California and
New York to address crime and drug prevention as well as other
community issues. The YEP program several years ago attracted the
support of Fortune 500 companies including NationsBank (now known
as "Bank of America") and COMPAQ Computer Corporation. COMPAQ was
so impressed with the YEP program, the company donated a
state-of-the-arts computer lab to support and enhance our services
to the community. Members of the YEP's team have regularly worked
with schools and local agencies in the past to sponsor an
anti-crime parade in Clayton County that annually attracted more
than 2,000 participants . The YEP team has collaborated with the
Clayton County School System, the Clayton County Police Department,
and the Governor's Children and Youth Coordinating Council. Since
its inception in 1993, more than 1,500 youth and their families
have benefited from YEP's programs and services. In fact, the YEP
program has won the "Governor's Red Ribbon Award" for exemplary
programming. Specific Programming for Youth
